Greensboro offense struggles in 5-2 loss

On Thursday the High-A Greensboro Grasshoppers struggled mightily on offense. Entering the 9th inning, the Grassoppers had not scored a run. While they plated a pair of runs in the 9th they still fell to the Bowling Green Hot Rods 5-2 to fall to 22-20 on the season.

Bubba Chandler started for the Grasshoppers and turned in a strong start. Chandler allowed 2 runs, 1 earned, on eight hits, a walk, and seven strikeouts. This outing lowered Chandler's ERA on the season to 6.62. Hopefully, this will be the start that gets Chandler trending in an upward direction again.

Jaycob Deese followed Chandler, allowing a run on three hits, a walk, and four strikeouts in 2.1 innings pitched. Eddy Yean allowed 2 runs on two hits, a walk, and two strikeouts in 1.2 innings pitched. Grant Ford came in and got the final out of the game for Greensboro.

Brenden Dixon singled to start the 9th inning for Greensboro, Wyatt Hendrie singled with two outs and they scored on a Tsung-Che Cheng triple. The 6th triple of the season Cheng made the score 5-2 and made his OPS on the season .966.
