FCL Pirates win high scoring affair

Saturday afternoon the FCL Pirates won a high scoring game against the FCL Orioles. The Pirates picked up a 13-9 vicotry over the Orioles. With the win, the Pirates are now 29-19 on the season and remain in first place in the FCL South.

Jhonson Pena started in center field going 2-for-4 with a RBI and two runs scored. Braylon Bishop replaced Pena is center field, going 1-for-2. Javier Rivas was 2-for-6 with a double and three RBI. Jeral Toledo was 1-for-2 with a double and a run scored.

Estuar Suero had his best game since joining the Pirate organization. The outfielder, who was acquired in the Rich Hill/Ji Man Choi trade, went 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and two RBI. Wesley Zapata played both second and third base going 2-for-4 with a walk, three runs scored, and three RBI.

The FCL Pirates needed seven pitchers to get through Saturday's contest.

Carlson Reed started, allowing an unearned run on three hits, two walks, and two strikeouts in 2 innings pitched. Tyler Kennedy started the 3rd inning but only recorded two outs while allowing 3 runs on two hits, two walks, a home run, and a strikeout. Gilberto Alcala recorded the final out of the 3rd inning.

Isaias Uribe pitched 3 innings, allowing 4 runs on four hits, three walks, and three strikeouts. Peyton Strumbo and Joaquin Tejada each pitched a scoreless inning. Eliecer Romero pitched the 9th inning, allowing a run on two hits.
