Curve offense struggles in loss

It was a rough night for the Altoona Curve offense. The Double-A affiliate of the Pirates scored just 1 run in a 3-1 loss against the Bowie Baysox. With the loss, the Curve are now 52-57 on the season.

Jackson Wolf started for Altoona and the lefty turned in his best start since being acquired by the Pirates. Wolf threw 51 of 72 pitches for strikes while allowing just two hits, walking a batter, and striking out three in 5 scoreless innings pitched. It would not be a surprise to see Wolf pitching in the majors in September.

Grant Ford allowed a run in 1 inning pitched and Nick Dombkowski allowed a run in 1.1 innings pitched. Oliver Garcia pitched just 2/3 of an inning, but also allowed a run while allowing a hit and walking a pair.

Jackson Glenn, Matt Gorski, and Matt Fraizer were all 1-for-4. Joe Perez went 2-for-4, Chavez Young was 0-for-2 with a walk and a run scored, and Tsung-Che Cheng was 0-for-1 with a walk and a RBI. Carter Bins and Andres Alvarez each went 1-for3.
