Altoona was rained out for a second day in a row, Termarr Johnson continues to impress, and more Pittsburgh Pirates minor league action

Triple-A Indianapolis defeated the Omaha Storm Cashers 11-4 on Sunday. With the win, the top farm club of the Pittsburgh Pirates is now 42-47 on the season. A big 5th inning helped to carry the Indians to victory.

Miguel Andújar singled to start the 5th, Ryan Vilade walked, and one out walk by Aaron Shackelford loaded the bases. Grant Koch singled, Vinny Capra singled, and Josh Bissonette went deep for the 1st time this season with the Indians. Bissonette's 3-run blast capped off a 6-run inning, and made the score 9-3 Indians.

Jared Jones started for Indy and allowed 3 runs in 5 innings of work. Jones allowed six hits, a home run, did not walk a batter, and struck out six. He threw 58 of 83 pitches for strikes, while generating both four ground ball and fly ball outs.

Kyle Nicolas followed Jones and allowed a solo home run while striking a batter out in the 6th inning. Rob Zastryzny pitched a 1-2-3 7th inning, Colin Selby struck out the side in a scoreless 8th, and and Travis MacGregor danced around two base runners in a scoreless 9th.

Capra finished the game 4-for-4 with a walk, two doubles, three RBI, and two runs scored. Alika Williams went 2-for-3 with a walk, RBI, his 6th home run, and two runs scored. Canaan Smith-Njigba was 1-for-3 with two walks, Chris Owings hit his 7th home run, and Andújar was 2-for-5 with a run scored and a RBI.
