Bradenton continues to roll
Sunday afternoon the Low-A Bradenton Marauders defeated the Dunedin Blue Jays 9-4. With the win, the Marauders are now 48-35 on the season. The victory saw the Marauders overcome some very poor defense.
Multiple errors, including one by himself, led to Wilber Dotel allowing 4 unearned runs in 5.2 innings pitched. He allowed five hits, did not walk a batter, hit a batter, and struck out five. Owen Sharts followed with 1.1 scoreless innings of work, while Miguel Fulgencio and Julian Bosnic each pitched a scoreless inning.
At the plate, Termarr Johnson continued to rake for Bradenton. Last year's first-round pick was 2-for-4 with his 9th double of the season, 11th home run, and three runs scored. The 18-year-old is up to an .878 OPS this season.
Designated hitter Jack Brannigan was 2-for-5 with a run scored. Right fielder Rodolfo Nolasco was 1-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI, and first baseman Josiah Sightler was 1-for-2 with two walks, a RBI, and two runs scored. Catcher Omar Alfonzo also had a big day, going 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI.
