Jared Jones sets the tone in Altoona victory
Friday night was also a victorious one for the Double-A Altoona Curve. Following a 6-3 victory over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, the Curve are now 25-22 on the season.
Jared Jones started for the Curve and was masterful. In 6 innings pitched he allowed a run on two hits, two walks, and three strikeouts. He threw 47 of 80 pitches for strikes and induced six ground ball outs.
Jones has missed some time this season due to injury but has pitched extremely well when he's been on the mound. In 34.1 innings pitched across 9 starts this season, Jones now owns a 2.36 ERA and a 12:36 BB:K ratio to go with just two home runs allowed.
Liover Peguero was 1-for-4 with a solo home run, his 5th of the season. Matt Fraizer was 1-for-3 with a walk and a 3-run home run, his 4th long ball of the season. Henry Davis was 0-for-3 with a walk, Connor Scott was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, and Mason Martin was 1-for-3 with a walk and a RBI.
