Pittsburgh Pirates Rained Out, Set For Sunday Doubleheader Against the Reds
A stormy Saturday in Pittsburgh has thrown a wrench in the schedule
Storms in the area will keep the Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds from playing baseball on Saturday, leading to a Sunday doubleheader
Friday night the Pittsburgh Pirates dropped game one of their three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds 9-2. Game two of the series was scheduled for 7:05 PM ET on Saturday, however, Mother Nature had other ideas.
With heavy rains and thunderstorms expected to be in the Pittsburgh area for the rest of the night, the game has been postponned. It will now be part of a split doubleheader on Sunday. Game one will be played at 1:35 PM ET and game two will followed at 6:35 PM ET.
The original pitching plans called for Andre Jackson to start on Saturday night with Osvaldo Bido to follow as the bulk man. Bido was recalled on Saturday when Carmen Mlodzinski hit the injured list with right elbow soreness. Mitch Keller was then scheduled to start Sunday's game.
Odds are, Keller will start one of Sunday's game with some sort of bullpen game with Bido working as the bulk guy being the plan for the other game. That or Bido could just start the game.
