An excellent series from the starting rotation, more respect needs put on Jack Suwinski's name, and more takeaways from the Pittsburgh Pirates series victory over the New York Mets

In need of a bounce back series the Pittsburgh Pirates delievered with just that. After dropping two of three while playing some embarassingly poor baseball against the lowly Oakland A's, the Pirates responded by taking two of three at from the New York Mets.

After suffering a 5-1 loss in which the bullpen had a rare poor day on Saturday afternoon, the Pirates bounced back to defeat the Mets 2-1 on Sunday to secure a series victory. With the series victory, the Pirates finished their nine-game homestand 6-3 and improved to 10-8-1 in series played this season.

Next up for the Pirates is a three-game series at Wrigley Field. Believe it or not, it's the first time this season the Pirates and Cubs have played. But before we start to look ahead to that series let's take one last look back at the series against the Mets.

Here are our series takeaways from the Pirates taking two of three from the Mets.
