Four West Virginia Black Bears Make All Star Team

The Pittsburgh Pirates Short Season-A affiliate, the West Virginia Black Bears, will have four representatives at the New York Penn League All Star Game. RHP Dario Agrazal, OF Ty Moore, 3B Daniel Arribas and OF Logan Hill (Photo Credit: Dale Spark) were named to the South team.  The game will be played on August 18th, 2015 at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, Maryland. Ripken Stadium is home to the Aberdeen IronBirds.

Starting Pitcher Dario Agrazal currently carries a team best 5-3 record. He is 4-0 and Monongalia County Ballpark. He currently leads the New York-Penn League with fifty-four innings pitched. His 2.67 ERA leads the team and is seventh in the league. His thirty-three strikeouts are second on the team. Agrazal has been with the Pirates organization since 2012 after signing with the club as an international free agent from Panama.

Outfielder Logan Hill was drafted by the Pirates in the twenty-fifth round of the 2015 draft. His five home runs, thirty-seven RBIs, .325 batting average, .513 Slugging, .935 OPS, eleven doubles and 82 total bases all lead the team. Hill’s numbers also place him in the top five for all of these categories in the entire New York-Penn League.

Outfielder Ty Moore was drafted by the Pirates in the twelfth round of the 2015 draft. Ty sits in the top five in almost every stat category for the Black Bears. Moore and Hill both have appeared in forty-two games and have had 160 at bats. Moore’s .288 batting average is tied for second on the team with our next all-star.

Daniel Arribas has seen action at third base and catcher this season while playing in thirty-five games. His .288 batting average has him tied for second on the team. Arribas is in the top ten in almost every stat category for the Black Bears. Arribas has been with the Pirates organization since 2011 after signing with the club as an international free agent from The Netherlands
