Triple-A Indianapolis Indians

The Indianapolis Indians went 5-2 over the last week. The Indians split a four-game series while in Durham to face the Bulls. They continued the road trip in Norfolk by completing a three game sweep of the Tides.

International League West Division standings:

Indianapolis Indians – 68-48

Columbus Clippers – 63-52

Louisville Bats – 58-59

Toledo Mud Hens – 47-68

Players on the move:

RHP Adam Miller was sent from the Altoona Curve to the Indianapolis Indians on 8-9-2015.

RHP Vance Worley was sent outright from the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Indianapolis Indians on 8-7-2015.

OF Jaff Decker was optioned from the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Indianapolis Indians on 8-3-2015.

Players that stood out:

INF Josh Bell is batting .188 since his call up. He had five hits, two walks and five strikeouts.

RHP Tyler Glasnow had a no decision. He went 4.2 innings and allowed one earned run on three hits, six walks and six strikeouts.

INF Dan Gamache is batting .303 since his call up. He had six hits, three RBIs, two walks, and four strikeouts.

OF Gorkys Hernandez is now batting .270. He had five hits, one RBI, two walks, a stolen base and seven strikeouts.

INF Steve Lombardozzi is now batting .285. He had three hits, two RBIs, one walk, two stolen bases and seven strikeouts.

OF Willy Garcia is currently batting .260. He had seven hits, including two home runs, six RBIs, two walks, and struck out four times.

RHP Wilfredo Boscan picked up his seventh win while allowing one earned run on three hits, four walks, a stolen base and seven strikeouts.

INF Alen Hanson is now batting .277. He had five hits, one RBI, one walk, five strikeouts, and a stolen base.

RHP Angel Sanchez had a no decision. He allowed two hits, one earned run, walked three, and had four strikeouts in 3.1 innings of work.

RHP Chris Volstad picked up his team-leading ninth win while going 6.1 innings, allowing one earned run on six hits, one walk, and two strikeouts.

C Elias Diaz saw action in four games. He collected five hits and five RBIs and is now batting .274.

RHP Blake Wood leads the team with 24 saves.

RHP Radhames Liz picked up a win and a loss. In the win, he went six innings, allowing five hits, walked one, and struck out six. In the loss, he went six innings, allowed two earned runs on two hits, four walks and six strikeouts.

C Tony Sanchez  had five hits, one RBI, six strikeouts, and one walk. His average is now .229 for the season.

OF Keon Broxton had eight hits, four RBIs, six walks, four stolen bases, and nine strikeouts. His average is now .249.

1B John Bowker is now batting .226 after collecting five hits, including a home run, three RBIs and three strikeouts.

P Brad Lincoln saw action in two games. He picked up his fifth win of the season on Friday while going 3.2 innings and allowing one hit, two walks and two strikeouts.

Injury Report:

INF Kelson Brown was placed on the disabled list with a sprained right ankle on 8-4-2015 .

INF Gift Ngoepe remains on the disabled list with a left oblique strain.

OF Andy Vasquez remains on the disabled list with a right ankle sprain.

RHP Casey Sadler remains on the disabled list with a forearm strain.

RHP John Holdzkom remains on the disabled list.

A look at next week:

The Indians enjoy the day off on Monday. The Indians will host the Toledo Mud Hens for three games Tuesday to Thursday. Then, the Durham Bulls come to town for four games in three games.
