It’s been a week since the Pittsburgh Pirates lost in the NL Wild Card game. It’s now time to start to project the makeup of the team in 2016. A huge chunk of that will be decided by the arbitration process.
Arbitration can be a tricky thing, but lucky for us there are guys out there like Matt Swartz. Swartz does the yearly arbitration projections for MLB Trade Rumors. They are eerily accurate year-after-year. This year’s projections are out, and the Pirates will definitely have some work to do. Go check out the projections, then come back and listen to our interview with Matt. Go ahead, we’ll wait.
Discussed in this interview…
– Tyler and Jason get the scoop on Mark Melancon, Pedro Alvarez, and Neil Walker‘s arbitration cases.
– Matt really enlightens us to the arbitration process and gives us a snippet of the kind of thought that goes into his projections.
– The trio touch on Jeff Locke, Vance Worley, and the influence the free-agent market for starting pitching has on the arbitration process.
