Roansy Contreras looks sharp, the organization gets slammed, and more in today's Pittsburgh Pirates spring training notebook

The Pittsburgh Pirates are just two days away from opening up their spring training schedule on Saturday against the Minnesota Twins. On Wednesday, no major news came out of Pirates camp in Bradenton though there are several noteworthy topics to discuss.

At the forefront of everyone's mind in the Steel City is The Athletic's article from Stephen Nesbitt and Ken Rosenthal looking at how Pirates owner Bob Nutting has run the organization over the last several years. Rum Bunter's
Nicholas Caporoso took a look and gave his thoughts on the article, here.

But when it comes to positive news, the Pirates alongside the city of Bradenton and the Manatee Board of County Commissioners dedicated 27th Street East at Pirate City just outside the Pirates complex as "Roberto Clemente Memorial Way".

Like in Bradenton, it was a quiet day on Rum Bunter. But as stated earlier this week, quiet is good, especially early in camp. Well, unless you're hoping for the Pirates to make some much needed depth additions.

Be sure to take a look at yesterday's Pirates spring training notebook which highlighted Mitch Keller looking for a potential extension and Rowdy Tellez looking quite slim among other topics.
