LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne rolled up to Fanatics Fest in New York over the weekend with a bold new look.
Dunne, who is dating Pittsburgh Pirates rookie pitching phenom Paul Skenes, surprised fans by showing up to the event at Javits Center dressed as her boyfriend, complete with his MLB uniform and trademark mustache. She even threw a pitch with an acrobatic finish to reveal her true identity.
Dunne, who attended Fanatics Fest to participate in an "Athletes and Icons" panel alongside the likes of Alix Earle and Paige Spiranac, also stopped by the card show at the event. There, she found a pair of Skenes' rookie cards from Topps that she wanted to purchase, but was shocked to learn of their inflated prices ($2,400 and $750, respectively).
In an "undercover" disguise of a black hoodie, baseball cap and sunglasses, Dunne drove a hard bargain. In an effort to get the price of the cards down, she teased, "But he's just a pitcher!" Ultimately, she and the seller agreed on a price of $2,450 for both cards – a steal of a bargain at roughly 22% off.
Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes and girlfriend Livvy Dunne are baseball's newest power couple
Skenes and Dunne have had a whirlwind of success in the past year. Skenes led the LSU baseball team to a national championship in 2023 and was the No. 1 pick in the MLB Draft by the Pirates that year. Meanwhile, as Dunne has continued to capitalize on NIL and social media fame, she was part of the LSU gymnastics team that won a national championship in 2024.
Since making his MLB debut in May, Skenes has lived up to every bit of the hype surrounding his name, and even earned the starting nod for the National League at the 2024 MLB All-Star Game. He and Dunne appeared together on the All-Star Red Carpet in Arlington, Texas last month, where Dunne sang his praises.
"My brain can't even process how hard he throws," Dunne said in a red carpet interview with MLB Network. "It is incredible and it's such a joy to watch and he's a great baseball player, but an even better person."
Fair enough. Maybe Skenes isn't "just a pitcher" after all.
