Players who are not already in Pirate City will report on Monday as the Pittsburgh Pirates prepare for their first full squad workout of spring training 2024
Last Wednesday, pitchers and catchers reported to Bradenton. With that, spring training 2024 was underway for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Now, things are about to kick into full gear for the Bucs ahead of the upcoming season.
On Monday, the team will hold their first full squad workout of the spring. As always, this will include owner Bob Nutting's yearly address to the team ahead of their first full squad workout. With that, spring training 2024 will be in full gear.
The team's first full squad workout comes five days before their first Grapefruit League game. The Pirates will kick off Grapefruit League play in Fort Myers against the Minnesota Twins on Saturday afternoon.
It should be noted that Monday's workout at Pirate City will be open to the public. So, if you're in or around the Bradenton area on Monday afternoon you are more than welcome to go and check out the first full squad workout of the spring for the 2024 edition of the Pittsburgh Baseball Club.
With full squad workouts now here, these three spring training battles will start to come under the spotlight. It will also allow fans to start to familiarize themselves with changes that have occurred to the Pirate 40-man roster this offseason.
We are now just 38 days away from the Pirate regular season opener at Marlins Park in Miami against the Miami Marlins. With the first full squad workout of the spring on the docket for Monday afternoon, the start of the regular season will just be on the horizon for the Pirates and the rest of baseball.
