On Wednesday afternoon at PNC Park, Pittsburgh Pirates rookie phenom Paul Skenes appeared to be well on his way to earning his ninth MLB win.

Skenes left the Pirates' matchup against the Chicago Cubs with a 10-3 lead after five innings. He had thrown just 82 pitches in his 18th start, but manager Derek Shelton gave him the hook early as the Pirates continue to monitor the right-hander's workload down the stretch.

Four innings later, the Pirates' bullpen completely imploded. Four of Pittsburgh's relievers combined to surrender a total of 11 runs, including six in the top of the ninth inning alone. Chicago went on to win the game, 14-10.

Skenes did not factor into the decision, as David Bednar was charged with the loss and the blown save after giving up five earned runs in the ninth. But Skenes' girlfriend, LSU gymnast Livvy Dunne, was still none too pleased with the result.

Dunne took to social media immediately following the last out of the game and posted a GIF of Skenes shaking his head and saying, "You gotta be kidding me."

Skenes was solid through five innings Wednesday, allowing five hits and three runs (two earned), while striking out six and walking one. Had Pittsburgh's bullpen managed to hold it together (a seemingly impossible ask these days), he would have won the game.

Unfortunately, Kyle Nicolas and Aroldis Chapman combined to give up five runs in the two innings following Skenes' exit, causing the Pirates to enter the ninth inning barely clinging to a 10-8 lead. Then, all hell broke loose.

Bednar started the ninth and couldn't even get out of the inning. He threw 28 pitches, giving up five runs on three hits and two walks. It was his sixth blown save of the season, causing his ERA to skyrocket up to 6.32 as a result. Jalen Beeks wasn't much better in relief, unfortunately, giving up three hits and another run before getting the final out in the ninth.

In the end, we can't blame Dunne for her frustration. But someone should warn her that if she's going to be a Pirates fan for the long haul, she'd better get used to it.
