Andrew McCutchen Scoffs at Your Sophomore Jinx [VIDEO]

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

That low groan in the midwest today?  That was the soul of the Brewers being pulled ripped from their bodies as the Pittsburgh Pirates took the series behind Andrew McCutchen.  That sucking sound down South?  That is the 2009 NL Rookie of the Year Chris Coghlan failing to live up to last years performance.  As mentioned in the post by Duk, Coghlan will now be sharing at bats due to his .179 average, the .220 OBP, and the .179 slugging.  Huh. McCutchen was named the Baseball America Rookie of the Year in 2009. In 21 games this season, Cutch checks in among the top [...]

Hells Bells? Not Quite, Pirates Drop Brewers 7-3 to Snap Steak

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

Hungry and Humble Neil Walker Stays Hot

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: None Yet

Indianapolis Indian Neil Walker has picked up where he left off when he was called up to the Pittsburgh Pirates last season.  Walker went 3-for-5 last night and stole his sixth base of the season.  His season average has jumped to .328 with 12 RBI.  Ten of those RBI have come with runners in scoring position.   Walker has two homeruns and his OPS now sits at .930.   Walker has hit safely in eight of the past nine games.   His only weakness?  Hitting against lefties.  Remember, from July 30 until his first career Major League call-up on September 1, Walker collected 34 [...]

Charlie Morton stunk again.  We are getting tired of this PhotoShop. Morton threw thirteen fastballs, yes, all fastballs in the first inning.

Will Big Ben Roethlisberger Follow in Footsteps of Webster, Strzelczyk, and Long?

AUTHOR: | IN: Pittsburgh Pirates | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Mike Lupica of The New York Daily News said Roger Goodell suspended Ben Roethlisberger FOR THE GOOD OF THE LEAGUE. I’m curious if Goodell hopes it helps Roethlisberger and other players in the NFL?
